What to expect
In Swedish massage, the person to be massaged lies on the massage table draped with a sheet. It is a full-body treatment, except in areas that are contra indicated or where the client has requested not to be touched. Aromatic or unscented oil or lotion is used to facilitate the massage movements. Each session typically lasts 60 to 90 minutes. Depending on the client’s preferences, a massage session may involve the use of several techniques such as effleurage, petrissage, friction, vibration, and tapotement.
